Colby-Abbotsford Police Department Releases More Information Regarding Stabbing Incident on July 5th

The Colby-Abbotsford Police Department has released more information regarding the stabbing incident that occurred on July 5th.

The stabbing occurred on the 300 block of E. Oak St in the city of Abbotsford. The victims include two juveniles with stab wounds who were found deceased on scene and one adult female victim with stab wounds, who is presently receiving medical care.

The suspect was found on scene and taken into custody. The suspect, Victor Manuel Gomez Acosta of Abbotsford, has been medically cleared and is in custody at the Clark County Jail. There is no threat to the public.

Clark County Communications received a 911 call on July 5th at approximately 1:38 am concerning a female stab victim. Colby-Abbotsford Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene.

The adult female stab victim was transported to the Marshfield Medical Center for treatment of her stab injuries. Gomez Acosta was found inside the residence where the incident occurred and was apprehended at the crime scene.

Law Enforcement on scene located the two deceased juvenile victims inside the residence. Central EMS was on scene to provide care. Gomez Acosta was transported to the Colby-Abbotsford Police Department where self-inflicted stab wounds were discovered.

Central EMS were called to the Police Department. Gomez Acosta was transported to the Marshfield Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. A motive for the stabbing has not been identified at this time. The identity of the juvenile victims will not be released.

The identity of the adult victim will not be released at this time. The Colby-Abbotsford Police Department and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office are conducting the investigation.

They are assisted by The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation, Wisconsin State Crime Lab, Wisconsin State Patrol, Clark County District Attorney’s Office, Clark County Coroner’s Office, and the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office.
