A man sought by authorities over the long 4th of July weekend has been taken into custody.

Bartholomew "Bart" Baumann has been located and taken into custody by the Marathon County Sheriff's Office. The Department wants to express their appreciation to the citizens of the Town of Eau Pleine and the surrounding area who provided information that led to his capture.

Baumann was wanted on a felony warrant, was on the run over the weekend, and was considered armed and dangerous. His last known location at the time was west of Stratford. The Marathon County Sheriff's Office located Baumann's vehicle first in the Town of Eau Pleine, close to Kingswood Lane and Staadt Avenue.

During the initial search, SWAT teams from Marathon County, Marshfield, and Portage County, officers from the Stratford Police Department, the Spencer Police Department, the Wisconsin State Patrol, K-9 teams, and drones were used.
