Taylor County Emergency Management Confirms Tornado Hit Near Medford on July 5th

Taylor County Emergency Management, in collaboration with the National Weather Service, investigated a report of a funnel cloud in the Town of Medford on Friday, July 5th.
The funnel cloud was reported by multiple people, photos, and video, which confirmed that rotation was present. There were no reported injuries or major damage being done. After reviewing evidence and witness statements, it has been determined that a weak tornado touched down northwest of the Town of Medford on the afternoon of July 5th.
The tornado was intermittent along a one-mile path moving towards the southwest with some light tree damage noted. The tornado had heavy rainfall and winds up to 65mph, which rated the tornado an EF0.
