Osseo-Fairchild High School Family & Consumer Sciences Department Receives $5,000 Rachel Ray Foundation ProStart Grow Grant

The Osseo-Fairchild High School Family & Consumer Sciences Department received a $5,000 Rachael Ray Foundation ProStart Grow Grant to expand its Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management Program. 

The funds from the Rachael Ray ProStart Grow Grant Program will use the grant funds to purchase equipment for the food science, culinary, and baking courses being implemented this coming school year.

A few of the large purchases include a commercial food dehydrator, a proofing oven for raising yeast bread products, coffee and espresso machines, and photo boxes for food photography.

“We are extremely excited to be awarded this grant for a second year in a row. We have been able to restart the Family and Consumer Sciences program with a great deal of momentum due to the Rachael Ray Foundation ProStart Grow Grant. The students have been very excited to enroll in the culinary program which supports our local food service operations in the community.” states Delaine Stendahl, local instructor.
