Woman Accused of Stealing Tens of Thousands of Dollars From Central Wisconsin Business Pleads No Contest

Thursday, June 27th, 2024 -- 12:01 PM

(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A woman accused of stealing tens of thousands of dollars from a Central Wisconsin business has pled no contest to one count of theft in a business setting.

According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Lillianna Neumann was then found guilty by Judge Scott Corbett. A presentence investigation will be conducted over the next two months.

Charges stem from a January 2023 investigation into the businesses’ finances, which started after Neumann disclosed the situation to investigators at the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office.

The company then conducted its own audit. She reportedly stole more than $45,000 from the business over three months. Investigators say Neumann was authorized to write checks for the business, but could not write checks payable to herself or her businesses.

As part of Tuesday’s deal one count of forgery will be dismissed but read into the record. She now faces up to 10 years in prison. A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for September 16th. A restitution hearing has also been scheduled for October 25th.
