Neillsville School Board Approves Bids for Building Projects, Contracts, and More

The Neillsville School Board began their meeting on Monday with samples of two senior science projects and a building projects update.

The Board also approved the bid from Ahern in the amount of $32,192 for high school water heater replacements and the bid from Van Ert Electric in an amount not to exceed $131,450 for the clock system circuitry and the electrical panel replacement.

The Board also approved the Achievement Gap Reduction Report, approved the academic standards and educational options for the 2024-2025 school year, and the use of space agreement with Clark County Community Services and Children’s Service Society of Wisconsin.

The Board also approved the updated agreement with Kinum to assist with debt collection, approved the property insurance renewal from TriCor Insurance in the amount of $241,134, and approved the out-of-state field trip to Indianapolis, Indiana on October 22nd-25th of this year for the Neillsville FFA.

The Board also approved the Wisconsin Rural Schools Alliance membership renewal, approved the WASB membership renewal, and approved setting a temporary Fund 10 budget for the 2024-2025 school year in the amount of $11,778,726.

The Board also approved setting Citizens State Bank, Associated Bank, Unity Bank, and Simplicity Credit Union as the official depositories for the 2024-2025 school year.

The Board also approved authorizing District Administrator John Gaier to make investments for the 2024-2025 school year, approved the WIAA membership renewal for the 2024-25 school year, approved the donation of a hydroponic garden from the Clark County Health Department, and approved the monetary donation from Gross Motors to the Neillsville FFA in the amount of $1,000.

In employment matters, the Board approved the resignations of Brian Waters from his high school math teaching position, Shannon LaDow from her kindergarten teaching position, and Jasmine Naedler from her assistant softball coaching position.

The Board also approved the hiring of Ashley Hoppe for a teaching assistant position, Jessica Griesbach for the second grade teaching position, Alex Bloch for the high school math teaching position, Todd Fischer for the high school social studies teaching position, and Randi Stanley for the High School Quiz Bowl Team Advisor.

The Board also approved the Memorandum of Understanding for Jan Shilts and approved the revised Letter of Appointment for Todd Schmidt. The Board also approved the proposed co-curricular contracts for the 2024-2025 school year as presented.

Finally, the Board approved the retirement of District Administrator John Gaier, effective June 30th of 2025.
