Wausau School District Starting New Approach to Restructuring of Elementary Schools
Monday, June 24th, 2024 -- 9:00 AM
(WSAW Staff, WSAW) The Wausau School District started a new approach to restructuring its elementary schools on June 12.
According to WSAW staff, after outrage over potential changes last fall, the school district is asking the public to help. The Citizen Elementary Facility Plan Task Force will meet nine times over the next six months to decide what to do with the elementary schools.
The group is being led by a consultant, Mark Roffers. He and other administrators will work to guide 45 task force members. The force consists of teachers, Wausau parents, and other Wausau citizens.
Roffers is helping the team answer the district’s question of what to do with their elementary schools. The task force will spend the summer collecting information. In the fall, they will put together proposals that will be delivered in December.
The meetings are open to the public. Concerned citizens are encouraged to join. More information can be found on the Wausau School District website.
