Monday, June 23rd, 2008 -- 2:41 PM
The Chippewa Valley Technical College Board approved the college's 2008-2009 budget last week.It includes a 4.5% tax levy increase, but the projected mill rate of $1.57 per thousand dollars of property has not changed.
According to a CVTC press release, the increased tax levy is the result of decreased state aid, higher energy costs and increasing health insurance.
The board voted to scale back marketing, business management, accounting and other programs and suspend the Instructional Assistant, Central Supply Technician and continuing education offerings in insurance.
The CVTC district covers parts of 11 counties, including the western half of Clark County.
