UPDATE: Clark County Sheriff's Department Releases Information on Sex Offender Released; No Longer Homeless
Wednesday, June 19th, 2024 -- 2:01 PM
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the following information pursuant to Wisconsin State Statute 301.46(2m) which authorizes law enforcement agencies to inform the public of a sex offender’s release when, in the discretion of the agency, the release of information will enhance public safety, awareness and protection.
The individual who appears on this notification has been convicted of a sex offense. Further, his criminal history places him in a classification level, which reflects the potential to re-offend.
This sex offender has served the sentence imposed on him by the courts. He is NOT wanted by law enforcement at this time. This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather, it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public.
Sex offenders have always lived in our communities; but it was not until the Sex Offender Registration and Community Notification Law was enacted that law enforcement was able to share this information with the community.
Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate, or harass registered sex offenders will not be tolerated. Mark M. Davis has previously served his sentence and will be residing in Clark County as of Tuesday, June 18th.
He will be residing at 1800 Black River Road Neillsville WI 54456. If he does find a residence another release will be sent out with updated address information. This information is being provided to make sure the public is aware of Mr. Davis’ release to the community.
Mr. Davis served a prison sentence for third degree sexual assault. Mr. Davis’ victim was an elderly female. Mr. Davis will be supervised by Wisconsin Department of Corrections Agent specialized in intensive supervision. Special supervision conditions include no unsupervised contact with minors.
He is not to consume any drugs, comply with the standard sex offender rules, cooperate with electronic monitoring, face to face contact with law enforcement, and comply with all requirements of the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry Program.
If Mr. Davis violates any of these rules or conditions of his supervised released he will be taken into custody and placed in confinement. Witness violations should be reported to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office at 1-800-743-2420. Any questions please contact Captain Kerry Kirn at 715-743-5358.
