After Influx of Pets, Marshfield Area Pet Shelter in Need of Donations and Supplies
Thursday, June 6th, 2024 -- 9:01 AM

The Marshfield Area Pet Shelter is in need of donations and supplies after an influx of animals.
In only a few days, MAPS took in more than TWENTY cats, kittens and pregnant moms and more are on their way this week. This is in addition to the EIGHT puppies and their mama who are back at the shelter. In a blink of an eye, over 60 animals are in their care.
From now until the end of the year, the amount of animals coming into the shelter will continue to increase. Why? Warmer weather, unaltered cats and dogs looking for a mate and pet owners who don't spay and neuter!
The shelter is in need of donations and supplies. They also need monetary donations to help cover the cost to spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinate all these pets. Some supplies they could use include:
- Purina Cat & Kitten Food,
- Canned Puppy Food,
- Tidy Cats CLUMPING Litter,
- Dry Cat Food (any brand),
- Purina One Dog Food (red bag),
- Mr Clean Liquid Cleaner,
- Paper Towel,
- Bird Seed (for our feeders),
- And 1 gallon Resealable Storage Bags.
They’ll also take gift cards from Chewy, Fleet Farm, Menards, and Amazon. They buy bulk supplies and some specialty items from those retailers. Donations can be dropped off at 3500 Downwind Dr or shipped to MAPS via the Amazon and Chewy wish lists.
You’re also urged to participate in MAPS events like next weekend’s Putts Fore Pets. If you’d like to donate, you can do so here: https://www.marshfieldpetshelter.org/donate
