Greenwood Woman Arrested in Lake Hallie After Road Rage Incident

A Greenwood woman was arrested in Lake Hallie after a road rage incident.

According to the Lake Hallie Police Department, on Tuesday, May 28th, around 5:41pm, they were called to investigate a rollover crash on Highway 53 North near Lake Hallie. After an investigation, authorities determined it was a road rage incident.

According to the Department, witnesses stated 28-year-old Ashley Smrecek of Greenwood and another male driver exchanged “hand gestures” to one another on the road.

They then claim that Smrecek intentionally rammed into the other vehicle. Her vehicle then rolled and went into the ditch. No one was hurt in the incident and drugs and alcohol were not involved.

Smrecek was arrested and is facing charges of 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety and also cited for no insurance.
