Chippewa County Sheriff's Department Reminds Resident to be Vigilant After Close Call With a Vehicle

(WEAU Staff, WEAU) Two law enforcement members of the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office were almost hit by a passing vehicle while investigating a crash, according to WEAU staff.

According to a press release from the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, on Friday, May 17th, at approximately 6:36 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash on South Highway 29 near County Highway J in the Town of Lafayette.

The press release says while investigating the crash, at approximately 7:00 p.m., a deputy and patrol sergeant were almost hit by a vehicle that was unrelated to the crash.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking drivers to pay attention and slow down when they see emergency vehicles on the side of the road.
