NWS Confirms Additional Clark County Tornados

Saturday, May 25th, 2024 -- 9:20 AM

The National Weather Service Office in LaCrosse confirmed an additional four tornadoes from Tuesday's storms in Clark County.

The first was an EF-1 that touched down northeast of Humbird and traveled to just southwest of Loyal. The 16 mile track a width of 300 yards.

A second EF-1 also hit the Atwood area. Multiple farmsteads were hit with damage mainly to trees and outbuildings. That tornado had a width of 150 yards.

An EF-0 tornado traveled 10 miles with a path from Loyal to Riplinger. That tornado damaged mainly trees along with outbuildings.

A second EF-0 also traveled from Loyal to Riplinger for 2 miles with a width of 75 yards.  Weather Service staff said it was a brief tornado that occurred southeast of the longer-tracked tornado. A farmstead, trees, and a garage attached to a manufactured home were damaged.

Do to the early warning and proper actions of county residents, no injuries have been reported from the storms.
