Neillsville School Board Approves Bid for New Teacher Desks and More

The Neillsville School Board approved a bid to replace teacher’s desks at their recent meeting.

The Board approved the bid from EBI in the amount of $27,013.42 for replacement teacher desks. The Board also approved the 2024-25 Capstone project for the Eau Claire County Parks and Forest Dept. and approved the new English Language Arts Program HMH Into Literature for grades six through ten.

The Board also approved two early graduation requests. The Board also approved two field trips including the music department’s out of state field trip to Chanhassen, MN on March 28, 2025 and the choir students’ out of state field trip to Decorah, Iowa on January 12-14, 2025. The Board also approved the student insurance renewal for 2024-2025.

The Board also approved several donations including the donation of ice cream cones for the third through fifth graders from A&W, the donation of Subway sandwiches for staff from Jake Ormond and Julie Simek, and the decorating of the staff lounge doors from Brittney Lowry.

They also approved the monetary donation from Unity Bank for the Kindness in our Community Club, the monetary donation from Howie and Kathy Mathis for the Kindness in our Community Club, the monetary donation from Grit Nutrition for the Kindness in our Community Club, the monetary donation from Mama G’s for the Kindness in our Community Club, and the monetary donation from the Neillsville Booster Club in the amount of $8,544.50.

In employment matters, the Board approved the resignations of Eric Moltzen from his teaching assistant position, Kara Milkey from her teaching assistant position, Krista Brueggen from her first grade teaching position, Megan Christianson from her elementary teaching position, Eric Moltzen from his assistant softball coaching position, and Jesse Bernhagen from his middle school basketball coaching position.

The Board approved the hiring of Jazmine Glassbrenner for the administrative secretary position, Tiffany Kren for the teaching assistant position, and Jasmine Naedler for the assistant softball coaching position.

The Board also approved the wage increase request from Amy Veltus, food service assistant. The Board also approved the Memorandum of Understanding request from Todd Schmidt for health insurance, the Memorandum of Understanding request from Brian Waters, the Memorandum of Understanding request from Paul Ziebell, and the Memorandum of Understanding for Kory Poeschel.

The Board also approved the teaching contract for Paige Gruenling for the first grade teaching position and the teaching contract for Brianna Post for the middle school math teaching position.

The Board also approved the Principal Contract for Jesse Bernhagen, the Principal Contract for Marcy Kunze, and the Principal Contract for Jennifer Aspenson. Finally, the Board approved the Administrator Contract for John Gaier and the Director of Special Education and Instructional Facilitator Contract for Kory Poeschel. The Board also approved the initial adoption of Policy IGDJA.

The Board also heard the Administrators’ Reports. Elementary Principal Marcy Kunze reported on:

  • PBIS update;
  • Student council project update;
  • Star Lab;
  • Elementary meet and greet day;
  • 4K graduation information;
  • The May needs assessment meeting;
  • In-service update;
  • Last day of school activities;
  • Elementary concert;
  • And the end of the year mailing.

Middle School Principal Kory Poeschel reported on:

  • Attendance;
  • Monthly character trait;
  • Testing;
  • Upcoming guest speaker;
  • Past field trips;
  • Remaining TLC guidance lesson;
  • 5th grade transition to middle school process; teacher in-service day updates;
  • And important dates looking forward.

The board reviewed High School Principal Craig Anderson’s report on:

  • Attendance;
  • Music department news;
  • Guidance office news;
  • Important graduation related dates and information;
  • And information regarding homecoming 2024.

Finally, District Administrator John Gaier reported on:

Business mentor feedback survey;

Clark County Community Services senior survey;

NHS induction ceremony;
