A Neillsville man has been arrested for a string of burglaries and thefts in Jackson County.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, back on April 12th, the Department received a report of a stolen trailer, which contained an ATV and thousands of dollars of property, from a residence in the Town of Adams.
In the following weeks, a string of other vehicle trailer thefts was reported in the Merrillan/Alma Center area. During the investigation, authorities identified 44-year-old Edward Decorah of Neillsville as a suspect. Decorah was eventually located and arrested at a residence in Jackson County that also contained stolen property from surrounding counties.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department has deferred a large number of theft cases to the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office for felony and misdemeanor charging.
Some of the cases are still under investigation and anybody with information is encouraged to contact the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.
