Severe Storms Rip Through Central Wisconsin

Central Wisconsin saw the first severe storms and even tornadoes of the spring and summer season Tuesday evening.
The National Weather service issued severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings for Clark, Wood, Marathon, Jackson, Taylor, Eau Claire, and Chippewa Counties. Many counties saw some form of warning or watch posted Tuesday evening.
At 7:47pm, a tornado was confirmed 13 miles east of Abbotsford. The National Weather Service also said they received a report of a tornado on the ground near Unity and Spencer. Indeed, video and photos posted to Facebook show extensive damage to the Unity area with downed trees and power lines, damage to homes, and more.
There were also reports of downed trees, power lines, and power outages in Neillsville, Loyal, Greenwood, Augusta, Marshfield, Stratford, Wisconsin Rapids and throughout central Wisconsin.
