Man Enters Pleas for Domestic Dispute Incident in Eau Claire County

(WEAU Staff) Pleas are entered for a man who deputies say was involved in a domestic dispute in Eau Claire County.
According to WEAU Staff, court records show 29-year-old Mitchell Henke of Eau Claire enters a no contest plea to charges of criminal trespass as a repeater, theft - movable property as a repeater, criminal damage to property as a repeater, telephone harassment as a repeater, 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety as a domestic with the repeater, possession of a firearm by a felon with the repeater, and possession of a firearm while intoxicated as a repeater.
According to court records, a sentencing hearing is scheduled for Aug. 8, 2024. Deputies responded to the 3200 of West Cameron Street in the Town of Union the night of Sept. 23, 2023.
A female victim told them Henke threatened to kill her, and physically assaulted her with a firearm. She said Henke was in the home with a 2-year-old child. The Eau Claire County Regional Swat Team was activated, and the 2-year-old was rescued through a bedroom window.
Negotiations continued for several hours until the Swat Team entered the home and Henke was not found. They believe he took off before law enforcement arrived, leaving the child behind.
