(Heather Knox, WEAU) An Onalaska resident was arrested in relation to a drug overdose death last May.
According to Heather Knox with WEAU, 33-year-old Aspen Kalina of Onalaska, Wis., was arrested on recommended charges of first-degree reckless homicide following an investigation that determined they delivered the drugs that resulted in an overdose death last year.
The investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. According to a news release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, on May 8, 2023, at about 2:48 a.m., it responded to a report of an unresponsive person in the Town of Albion.
The person was later pronounced dead. A toxicology report indicated that the person died from a drug overdose. An investigation led by a detective from the sheriff’s office provided the evidence to support that the drugs had been delivered to the victim by Kalina.
