Wausau River District Names New Executive Director

(Mike Leischner, WSAU) The Wausau River District has named a Wausau native as its next Executive Director.

According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Callie Wulk will take over the position after it was vacated by Blake Opal-Wahoske earlier this spring. Wulk previously served as Director of Outreach for the Lincoln County Economic Development Corporation, a position she’s held for the last seven months according to her LinkedIn page.

The announcement came in a Facebook post on Monday morning. The Wausau River District website already lists her as the Executive Director alongside the rest of their staff.

Wulk is a Wausau native and UWSP graduate where she earned both her Bachelor of Science in business administration and an MBA with an emphasis on applied leadership and decision making.

Opal-Wahoske’s last day was April 17th. Since then Event Manager Alex Eichten has served as interim office manager.
