Central Wisconsin Man Enters Plea for Displaying a Firearm and Fleeing Police

A Central Wisconsin man arrested back in January for displaying a firearm and fleeing police entered a plea in Wood County.
According to a press release from the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department, Dane Bieniek allegedly displayed a firearm at another driver. When officers attempted a traffic stop, Bieniek drove off, and later crashed the vehicle into a residence and began to run away on foot.
Officers were able to apprehend the suspect and recover the firearm. This led to Bieniek’s arrest while out on parole for a felony charge of vehicle operator flee/elude officer.
Bieniek pleaded guilty to 1st degree recklessly endangering safety, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and vehicle operator fleeing and eluding an officer. Several other charges were dismissed and read in. He’s scheduled for sentencing on May 22nd.
