An ex-girlfriend of State Representative Scott Suder made her initial appearance Thursday on theft charges.Lisa Brabazon faces 15 felonies and 4 misdemeanors for allegedly using Suder's checks and credit cards without permission.
In Marathon Co. Circuit Court Thursday, Brabazon had not guilty pleas entered on her behalf.
She appeared without an attorney and a hearing will be held next week to determine if she qualifies for a public defender.
According to the criminal complaint, Suder went to authorities last October after he noticed his balance statements didn't add up and Brabazon had written numerous checks to herself.
Brabazon didn't deny writing the checks or using Suder's credit cards, but says she had his permission. The two had been living together, and Brabazon claims Suder gave her permission to use his accounts when he was in Madison.
Brabazon used Suder's PIN number. She says he gave it to her, but Suder believes she probably found it when snooping through his files.
A preliminary hearing was set for June 2nd.
