Marathon County Sheriff’s Department Welcomes Newest Deputy

The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office had the pleasure of swearing in their newest deputy, Alex Thompson.

Deputy Thompson comes to the office after having served at a couple of different agencies over the last ten years of his career. Most recently Deputy Thompson worked for the Everest Metro Police Department.

In his role at the Everest Metro Police Department, Deputy Thompson was also a K9 handler with his partner K9 Joker. A huge thank you to Chief Jeremy Hunt of the newly formed Mountain Bay Police Department for his partnership in working with the Sheriff’s Office to allow Joker to join Deputy Thompson at the office.

Deputy Thompson has previous experience with the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office and Necedah Police Department.  In those roles he has experience as a SWAT team operator and Drug Taskforce member.

They are excited for Deputy Thompson to begin his career at the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office.
