(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A Minneapolis man has pled not guilty to one felony count of child sexual assault.
According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Chue Yang was in a Marathon County courtroom on Tuesday where Judge Michael Moran also bound him over for trial. The 47-year-old is accused of forcing himself onto a child on multiple occasions.
The accusations date back to 2008 when Yang was in a relationship with the child’s mother. Charges were filed in August of 2022 but Yang wasn’t arrested until late January when he was taken into custody in Hennepin County. He’s free on a $50,000 bond, which was posted on February 2nd.
Terms of the bond include no contact with the victims and no unsupervised contact with any minor females. He must also comply with ATTIC correctional services and has surrendered his passport.
Yang returns to court on May 23rd for a pretrial conference. No trial date has been set. He faces up to 60 years in prison if found guilty.
