Wausau School District Looking for Volunteer Members for Elementary Facility Plan Task Force
Wednesday, May 1st, 2024 -- 8:01 AM
(Heather Poltrock, WSAW) The Wausau School District is looking for volunteer members for its Elementary Facility Plan Task Force.
According to Heather Poltrock with WSAW, earlier this year, the Wausau School Board hired a demographer to assess the Wausau School District’s elementary footprint.
With his help, the Wausau School Board is working to create a long-range elementary school facilities plan. The plan will focus on whether the number of elementary schools in the district should be reduced and if so, how the plan unfolds.
The district is hoping to create a group of 20-45 people. The committee will develop, evaluate, and recommend one or more elementary school facility options by the end of this year.
The volunteer group will likely meet eight times. Projected meeting dates are: June 12, July 10, Aug. 28, Sept. 11, Sept. 25, Oct. 9, Oct. 30, Nov. 13, and Dec. 4. If you are interested in volunteering to be on the Citizen Elementary Facility Task Force, click here. Please do so by Friday, May 10.
