New Mountain Bay Metro Police Department to Come Into Existence May 1st

(Chris Conley, WSAU and WAOW) The new Mountain Bay Metro Police Department will come into existence on May 1st.

According to Chris Conley with WSAU and WAOW, it will be a combination of the current Everest Metro Police and Rothschild PD. While they may have a new name and look, the community can expect even better service.

Chief Hunt said, “They’re going to see a different patch, different badges, and probably different officers, but we’re in the process of getting a new squad car design, so that’s another thing that you might see, however service is going to be seamless, it’s going to be exactly what it was or better because there’s more officers at any given time.”

The department is making no cuts and will house 2 captains, 6 sergeants, 3 detectives, and 5 school resource officers. All current officers will keep their current jobs and ranks. The Department’s headquarters will be in Rothschild.
