Neillsville Fire Department Responds to Grass/Brush Fire

The Neillsville Fire Department responded to a grass/brush fire Sunday afternoon.
According to Neillsville Fire Chief Matt Meyer, around 3pm on Sunday, April 14th, they received a report of a grass/brush fire about ¾ of a mile west of County Road B on Beaver Lane in the Township of Hewitt. When they arrived, two acres had burned. The Department extinguished the fire using water and other techniques.
The Department was on scene for an hour and forty minutes. They had no injuries on their part. They were assisted by the DNR, Augusta Ranger, and Prairie Ranger. When it was all said done, around 3.36 acres had burned, but no structures were involved or even threatened by the fire.
