Marshfield Common Council Hears Information and Presentations at Tuesday Meeting
Thursday, April 11th, 2024 -- 9:01 AM

The Marshfield Common Council mainly had a night of information and presentations at their meeting on Tuesday.
The Council did have a first reading, so no action was taken, on potentially abolishing the City’s Audit Committee. It will be brought back at the next Council meeting. The Council also approved the bid for the 2024 asphalt paving program and approved the 2024 pre-qualified contractors list.
The Council also heard a report on possible options for an availability tool to schedule special Council meetings; reviewed the Policy regarding Utility Transfers for General Government Utilization; reviewed 2023 Wisconsin Act 106 (originally proposed as Senate Bill 99); and heard options for Council members to obtain an e-mail list of their constituents.
During the appearances portion of the meeting, a couple individuals spoke against some proposed bathrooms in Wenzel Family Plaza. Another member of the Economic Development Board discussed some questions regarding funds and how they’re used by the Board. That item was on the agenda for discussion, but was later removed. It will return on a future agenda.
