Spencer Man Enters Plea for Sexual Assault of a Child

A Spencer man facing a charge of sexual assault of a child entered a plea in Marathon County Court on Thursday.

According to court records, Matthew Gerstenlauer is accused of sexually assaulting a boy at his home in Spencer. The victim told a social worker who then contacted the police. The boy stated the abuse began back in 2013 when he was nine.

Gerstenlauer was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, 2nd degree sexual assault of a child under the age of 16 and three counts of child neglect, resulting in bodily harm.
