(Emily Davies, WSAW) Marshfield Clinic Health System told employees this week that the 3% of those furloughed in January will no longer be employed by May 4.
According to Emily Davies with WSAW, MCHS previously stated the furloughs mostly impacted employees who do not see patients. Those being furloughed were notified earlier this week. John Gardner, Communications Director with Marshfield Clinic Health System confirmed there was a memo sent out confirming this information.
Gardner told WSAW, “We did inform this week previously furloughed employees that their employment will end in early May. This group of employees was notified of being furloughed in January 2024."
"We are committed to supporting affected employees during this transition period, assisting them with a severance package, and ensuring they have access to any available resources and assistance, including encouraging them to review other opportunities within the Health System in areas with specific needs."
"We are pleased that since January more than 60 furloughed employees pursued and were offered alternative employment opportunities with the Health System, and dozens more opted to take roles outside the organization.”
