Former Osseo-Fairchild Teacher Accused of Inappropriately Touching a Student Appealing His Conviction

(WEAU) A former high school teacher from Strum sentenced for inappropriately touching a former student is appealing his conviction.
According to WEAU, court records show 33-year-old Nicholas Bergeron is seeking postconviction relief, which means he is appealing his conviction. Court records also show a motion hearing is scheduled for April 1, 2024.
Bergeron was sentenced to 12 months in jail and five years probation for the charge of 2nd degree sexual assault of child. Bergeron was found guilty of inappropriately touching a former student when he was a teacher at Osseo-Fairchild High School.
According to a criminal complaint, the assault happened in Bergeron’s classroom between September 2022 and January 2023.
