Tax Assistance and Tax Counseling for the Elderly Available Across Wisconsin
Tuesday, March 26th, 2024 -- 10:11 AM
More than 120 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) sites across Wisconsin offer free income tax filing assistance.
Sites are staffed with IRS certified volunteers who receive technical assistance and training and are ready to help prepare and file your tax return. Last year, VITA and TCE volunteers in Wisconsin helped prepare over 31,000 income tax returns.
VITA and TCE sites are typically located in community centers, libraries, schools, and other convenient locations for those who need assistance. To locate an open site near you and learn about work schedules and protocols, use the VITA/TCE Locator Tool or the AARP Site Locator Tool.
These locator tools are updated throughout the filing season, so please check back if you don’t see a nearby site listed. Who can get help at a VITA or TCE site?
VITA and TCE income tax assistance is available for:
- Non-English-speaking taxpayers (VITA only),
- Military personnel (VITA only),
- Low-to-moderate income individuals,
- Individuals with disabilities,
- Individuals who are age 60 or older,
- And Individuals who qualify for the homestead credit or the earned income credit.
