Central Wisconsin Man Sentenced to Additional Jail Time for Possession of Child Pornography

Wednesday, March 20th, 2024 -- 3:01 PM

(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A Central Wisconsin man will serve an additional ten years in prison after pleading no contest to more than a dozen counts related to the possession of child pornography.

According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Travis Errthum was handed the sentence on Tuesday after pleading no contest to more than a dozen counts. Those charges stem from a 2019 search of his computer and cell phone, which turned up sexually explicit images and videos of young girls.

Charges were filed in March of 2019. By April he was sent back to prison on an extended supervision hold. Convictions against Errthum date back to 2001 when he was found guilty of child enticement and sentenced to eight years of probation and restitution to the victim’s mother.

He also served prison time after he was found guilty of possession of child porn in 2008. His current prison term is set to expire in August of 2025. Tuesday’s charges are to run conductive with his current term, meaning his release date will be extended into 2036.
