Wausau Fire Department Responds to Church Fire

(Chris Conley with WSAU and WAOW) A brief fire was extinguished at Wesley United Methodist Church in Wausau Tuesday by Wausau Fire Department.
According to Chris Conley with WSAU and WAOW, an ambulance was on the scene of the fire. WAOW-TV reports that a firefighter sustained an apparent injury while putting out the fire. The firefighter was transported by ambulance.
Wausau firefighters were called to Wesley United Methodist for visible smoke around 4pm. They were able to find the source and contain the fire in less than an hour. A Wausau battalion chief said the fire was believed to be caused by an electrical issue.
