Recent Community Survey of Greenwood and Loyal Residents Shows Support of Consolidation of School Districts
Tuesday, March 19th, 2024 -- 2:00 PM

A recent community survey has shown support for consolidation of the Greenwood and Loyal School Districts.
Consolidation has long been discussed between the two communities, and has even made it to the ballot in the past, but has always been rejected by the communities.
Due to revenue caps, declining enrollment, and numerous other factors, school districts, especially small, rural districts, have been collaborating and sharing resources more, including Greenwood and Loyal. Recently, the two Districts sent out a survey to community members to gauge their support regarding consolidation of the two Districts.
For Loyal residents, 264 respondents, or 75.4%, said they would support consolidation with 86 respondents, 24.6%, saying they would not support it. For Greenwood residents, 153 respondents, or 70.5%, stated they support consolidation with 64 respondents, or 29.5%, not supporting consolidation.
