The Marathon County Sheriff’s Department has been busy the past couple days.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Community Resource Unit conducted a traffic stop and with the help of K9 Lokey and his Dad, Officer Fritsch, over a quarter pound of methamphetamine was located inside the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle was subsequently taken to jail. Officer Mark Kurtzhals and his partner K-9 Rio responded to assist Lieutenant Carr with a vehicle sniff on a traffic stop.
A search of the vehicle and occupants resulted in approximately 130 grams of methamphetamine being seized, in addition to marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The individuals involved were visiting Wausau and not local.
