Tomah Students Publish a Book
Friday, March 15th, 2024 -- 9:01 AM
Ms. Tackett's class at Tomah High School got the opportunity to publish their own book.
The students were given a huge poster laying out all the steps to take in making the book. They worked together brainstorming book ideas before voting, and unanimously decided on Holidays.
Sticky notes were passed out with different holidays on them, and the students used their Chromebooks and iPads to look up facts and information on their holiday. They started out practicing their writing and drawing on blank paper before they began transferring them to the book sheet. The group worked for two weeks and made deadline.
When the shipment of bound books arrived, the students were EXTREMELY proud and excited. “The whole process was AMAZING!” said Ms. Tackett. The book will also be in the National Book Challenge by Student Treasures Publishing.
Congratulations to the author's: Austin Leis, La'Dainian Coleman, Riley Fravel, Addisen Lee, Emily Long, Alex Larson, Jacob Gerke, and Livia Licona!
