Former Wausau Drug Therapist Appears in Court for Sexual Assault

Wednesday, March 13th, 2024 -- 12:01 PM

(Mike Leiscner, WSAU) A former Wausau drug therapist accused of having inappropriate contact with a patient will face a three-day jury trial in July.

According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Aaron Mielke is charged with felony third-degree sexual assault and sexual exploitation by a therapist. Investigators say he met with the patient behind closed doors, touched her inappropriately, and slapped her backside as she was leaving the session.

According to the victim, Mielke also told her he would be “thinking about her all day.” On Tuesday a judge scheduled the 53-year-old for a final Pre-trial conference on July 2nd and a three-day trial from the 23rd through the 25th. If found guilty he could get up to 22.5 years in prison and thousands in fines.

Mielke is free on a $10,000 signature bond with several conditions including regular check-ins with ATTIC Correctional Services. He’s also barred from the Wausau Comprehensive Treatment Center and has a full no-contact order with the victim.
