Black River Falls Police Department Hires New Chief of Police

On March 5th, the Hiring Committee for the City of Black River Falls selected Travis Brown as the new Chief of Police / Criminal Investigator for the Black River Falls Police Department.

Brown has been employed with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department since 1999 serving in several roles and most recently as a Lieutenant. The City’s Hiring Committee received 4 applications for the position.

Brown is expected to begin his tenure as Chief of Police / Criminal Investigator for the City of Black River Falls Police Department on April 6, 2024, and one of his first tasks will be to hire one full-time patrol officer and additional part-time patrol officers for the department.
