A former Osseo-Fairchild teacher accused of inappropriately touching a student was sentenced in Trempealeau County Court on Thursday.
According to court records, a 15-year-old emailed the principle stating that inappropriate touching occurred in Nicholas Bergeron’s classroom between September of 2021 and January of 2022 at the Osseo-Fairchild High School. Several other students reported that Bergeron would pay extra attention to female students and ask for their phone numbers. Bergeron was questioned and he admitted to touching a girl’s leg and accidentally touching a girl’s butt.
In October of last year, a jury found Bergeron guilty of 2nd degree sexual assault of a child after a three day trial. He was sentenced to one year in jail, he must register as a sex offender, he can no longer be a teacher, and he can’t have a job with authority over minors.
