Tomah DECA Students Compete at State Career Development Conference

Tomah DECA spent February 25 through 28 in Lake Geneva, at the DECA State Career Development Conference.

They had an exciting week of competition and leadership development, with the chance to bring back awards and the opportunity to attend the International Conference in Anaheim, California. Congratulations to the following DECA members on their achievements:

  • Series and Project Awards: Alex Paisley: 2nd Place in Entrepreneurship Business Growth Plan;
  • Lily Joyce: 4th Place in Marketing Communication and 6th Place in Project Management Personal Finance;
  • Preston Wildes: 7th Place in Quick Serve Restaurant Management;
  • Lauren Guenther and Eva Hendrickson: Medalist in Hospitality Team Decision Making;
  • Cadence Davies: Medalist in Restaurant Food Service Management;
  • And Kai Garvin: Medalist in Principles of Management.

Chapter Awards:

  • Gold School Based Enterprise - Tomah Custom Designs and the Wolf Shack - Submitted by Marie Bannan;
  • Diamond Chapter Award - Submitted by Alexa Miller;
  • Chapter Campaign Thrive Status;
  • Membership Campaign Thrive Status;
  • And Community Service Award.

Congratulations to DECA Advisor Daniel Briggs for winning the 2024 Doug Flauding Professional Educator Award. Tomah was also represented at SCDC by:

  • Molly Stavlo and Carter Ollendick - Hospitality Team Decision Making;
  • Madison Wildes and Raven Wegman - Sports Team Decision Making;
  • Manraj Grewal - Personal Financial Literacy;
  • Marco Huser - Personal Financial Literacy;
  • Makayla Ueeck - Restaurant Food Service Management;
  • Tanner Gross - Principles of Finance;
  • And Tyler Moake - Automotive Services Management.

Tomah will be sending an amazing 10 students on to the International Career Development Conference in California to compete against chapters from across the US, as well as 20 other nations.
