Black River Falls Man Facing Charges of 8th OWI

(WEAU Staff) A Black River Falls man is accused of an 8th OWI offense following a traffic crash in Jackson County.
According to WEAU Staff, that's according to a press release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, which stated on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at approximately 11:33 p.m. Jackson County Deputies responded to a traffic crash at the Ho-Chunk Casino and Hotel located at W9010 State Highway 54, in the Town of Brockway.
The press release says deputies identified one of the drivers as 44-year-old Gerald Cloud Jr. of Black River Falls, Wis. According to the press release, as authorities investigated the crash, they suspected that Cloud’s speech was slurred, and he smelled of the odor of intoxicants.
The press release says Cloud confirmed that he had been drinking but refused to complete Standardized Field Sobriety Testing. Cloud was found to have had seven prior OWI’s, and his driving status was revoked.
Cloud was arrested on the suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated 8th offense and operating after revocation, and he was placed on a Probation Hold by the Department of Corrections, according to the press release.
