The Marathon County Sheriff’s Department bids farewell to Marathon County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Ted Knoeck as he heads off into retirement.

Prior to his service with the Sheriff's Office, Ted worked as a part-time police officer with the Marathon City Police Department and Edgar Police Department. Ted began his career with the Marathon County Sheriff's Office in November of 1996.

Ted quickly earned the respect of his co-workers and supervisors and became a field training officer, training many of their current staff who have gone on to leadership positions within the Office. Ted also served as a member of the SWAT team and has been instrumental in a number of new initiatives at the Sheriff's Office over the years.

In August of 2011 Ted was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and has served in that role for the last twelve years. In this role Ted helped to bridge relationships with a number of agencies and built upon their capabilities, especially in the area of Traffic Incident Management.

Ted's work with the Marathon County Highway Department and the Marathon County Highway Safety Committee helped improve their safe response to traffic incidents on our highways.

Ted also worked closely with the Field Training Program and has helped to develop the next generation of training officers within the Office. Ted came to work every day with a passion and commitment to serve.

The Marathon County Sheriff’s Department thanks Ted for all of his contributions and for his 28 years of dedicated service to Marathon County. They wish him all the best in retirement.
