(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A Wausau man will be tried after investigators say a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led them to a cache of child porn on his devices.
According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Jeremy A. Campbell is facing three counts of possession of child pornography which could land him 75 years in state prison.
Investigators say he had been using Snapchat to send and receive images involving what appeared to be sexual activity between a man and a pre-teen. That led investigators to search Campbell’s home. Police say he admitted to sending and receiving child sex materials on the app.
Charges were filed against him in early February 2023. The 40-year-old has pled not guilty and is free on a $10,000 signature bond. He has entered a not guilty plea. A three-day trial is scheduled for June 5th through the 7th, with a pretrial hearing on March 20th.
