CUTS COMING FOR CVTC?
Thursday, April 17th, 2008 -- 11:38 AM
WEAU-TV reports speculation is running rampant about possible program cuts at Chippewa Valley Technical College, which has a location in Neillsville.CVTC'S President, Bruce Barker, says the board is looking at every program to see if cuts are needed.
Some students have been told programs, such as core nursing, will be cut, but Barker says it's too early to speculate.
An email sent to instructors outlines dozens of options for eliminating or reducing specific programs, and teachers.
The programs include barber and cosmetology, practical nursing, therapeutic massage; courses include real estate and insurance.
The board will meet tonight night to discuss possible options. A final decision could come June 19 when the board approves a budget.
