Wisconsin Employers Make Forbes "Best Places to Work" List

(Alex Groth, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel) Top employers across Wisconsin landed on the latest Forbes report ranking midsize and large employers for the nation's best places to work.
According to Alex Groth with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the annual ranking of midsize employers is based on a survey of more than 170,000 U.S.-based workers at American companies.
Organizations with 1,000 to 5,000 employees were classified as midsize employers, and companies with more than 5,000 employees were considered large. Here's what Wisconsin companies made the list of best midsize and large employers, according to Forbes:

- Bellin Health (138 place),
- Johnsonville (181 place),
- Lands' End (219 place),
- Blain's Farm & Fleet (220 place),
- Winnebago County, WI (271 place),
- Robert W. Baird (284 place),
- Sentry Insurance (292 place),
- Marten Transport (380 place),
- And WPS Health Solutions (381 place).
Wisconsin's best large employers, according to Forbes:
- Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation (89 place),
- Kwik Trip/ Kwik Star (92 place),
- University of Wisconsin, Madison (113 place),
- Gundersen Health System (159 place),
- Uline (250 place),
- Rockwell Automation (260 place),
- American Family Insurance (309 place),
- Schreiber Foods (393 place),
- Schneider National (429 place),
- Northwestern Mutual (492 place),
- Kohler (497 place),
- And Johnson Controls (558 place).
Employees were asked to rate their employer and if they would recommend their employer to others. Current employees, employees who had worked for the company within the past two years, and individuals familiar with the company responded to the survey.
Greater weight was given to evaluations from current employees and former employees. The report also included data from the past three years, with more recent data weighted more heavily, to better classify companies that have been rated well over time.
