Auburndale Man Killed in One Vehicle Accident on Friday

An Auburndale man was killed in a one vehicle accident in Wood county on Friday.

According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, on Friday, February 16th, around 7:35pm, the Wood County Dispatch Center received a call of a one vehicle crash on Hwy N, near the address of 3381 in the Township of Sherry. Wood County Deputies and First Responders arrived on scene and located the vehicle and a male occupant.

The male was determined to be the driver and the lone occupant in the vehicle. The initial crash investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling west on Hwy N and failed to negotiate a curve. This action caused the vehicle to impact an electrical pole and come to a stop.

The male operator, 41-year-old Nicholas Linzmeier of Auburndale, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Wood County Sheriff's Department was assisted at the scene by Marshfield Ambulance Service, Wood County Coroner, Sherry First Responders and Nieman's Tow Service.
