The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved an amendment regarding the publications of "employment vacancies" within the County.

A past resolution passed by the Board required County “employment vacancies” to be published in the local newspaper due to a state statute. However, it was determined that “employment vacancies” don’t qualify under that statute, so they don’t have to be printed in a newspaper.

According to the resolution, Clark County spent $19,584.96 in 2023 for those publications and found they’ve received a less than 3% return on investment. The Board approved the amendment with hopes it will reduce their advertising expenses.

The Board also approved a resolution offering condolences to the family of Robert Berglund. The Board also approved the annual salary increases for four years for the Clark County Clerk, Treasurer, and Register of Deeds. Currently, the annual salaries for 2024 are $72,346.87, $67,426.94, and $67,426.94 respectively.

The final amounts after the increases for County Clerk will be $77,411.15 for 2025, $81,281.71 for 2026, $84,532.98 for 2027, and $87,068.97 for 2028. The final amounts after the increases for Treasurer and Register of Deeds will be $72,146.83 in 2025, $75,754.17 in 2026, $78,784.34 in 2027, and $81,147.87 in 2028.

The Board also approved to participate in the Municipal Dam Grant Program for the removal and abandonment of Horse Creek Dam #1 and for the repair and maintenance of Spruce Lake and Mead Dams.

The Board also approved amendments to county ordinances regarding health and safety and the environment. Two appointments were removed from the agenda and will be acted on at next month’s meeting. Also, a resolution designating Veteran’s Day as a Holiday was sent back to Committee.

The Board also heard a presentation on the Senior Center Building.
