Parks and Recreation is removing the playground structure in Braem Park due to deteriorating conditions.

In 2023, we discovered a few major broken and deteriorated pieces. We also received concerns from citizens about the poor condition of the playground structure.

Since the playground in the park will be replaced in 2025, we have decided that it would be prudent of us to remove it now and not spend money on fixing the current structure.

The cost estimates are at $10,000 to replace the broken pieces, and we don't want to invest that kind of money into infrastructure that will be replaced in a short time.  We also feel the playground structure is unsafe and needs to be removed.

We hope to have a brand-new larger playground installed next year to complement all of the renovations taking place in the park. We are very excited to get moving on all the improvements in the park.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Parks and Recreation Office, Monday through Thursday from 7:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. and Fridays from 7:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.

Feel free to contact us with questions and/or comments.
