Scale at Waste Management Transfer Station Open Again, But Expect Delays as Repairs Continue

The scale at the Waste Management transfer station, located at 501 S. Hume Avenue, is now back open after temporarily being closed due to a mechanical issue.

Scale-House Attendant/Operations Specialist for Waste Management requests that patrons be patient and understand there will be a delay due to the scale not functioning properly.

Waste Management is waiting for parts to repair the scale back to normal operations. WM drivers take priority onto the scale so they can finish their scheduled routes on time.

The transfer stations normal hours are 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 11:30 AM to 5:00 PM on Mondays and from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM Tuesdays through Fridays.

The scale is used for bulky items such as mattresses, box springs, sofas, furniture, bicycles, carpets, toilets, etc. To verify scale hours or ask questions about items that can be dropped off, please contact Waste Management at 715-502-3560.
