Black River Falls Man Accused of Possessing Child Pornography Enters Plea in Jackson County Court

A Black River Falls man accused of possessing child pornography entered a plea in Jackson County Court on Monday.
According to court records, a detective stated they were conducting an investigation regarding internet crimes against children by Michael Vannet that began with a CyberTip. The detective was able to gather information from Vannet’s Snapchat and Kik accounts as well as his cell phone. In the search of the materials, 18 files of suspected child pornography were found.
During his court appearance on Monday, Vannet was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, two counts of possession of child pornography. Several other charges were dismissed and read in. He’s scheduled for sentencing on April 22nd.
